Illinois volleyball is set for another grueling week of Big Ten action with a split week of hosting Penn State and traveling to Rutgers on deck to open the second half of the Big Ten slate. The Orange and Blue own a 9-11 record as the team continues another week of Big Ten play with a record of 4-6 in conference matchups.
The 2022 campaign marks the 49th season of Illinois volleyball, with the Illini holding an overall record of 1,043-606-7 (.632) and a mark of 472-303 (.610) in the Big Ten.

HISTORY OF ILLINOIS VS. THE FIELD
Penn State and the Fighting Illini are set to square off for the 63rd all-time meeting between the squads with the Nittany Lions taking the decision in the prior meeting this season. Illinois trails the series 12-50 all-time. That record includes an 8-20 mark when playing at home. When playing in a televised match, Penn State leads the series, 2-12.
OPPONENT SCOUT
Illinois and Penn State will meet for their second meeting of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The Lions own a 17-4 overall record and 6-4 mark in Big Ten play. Penn State’s Big Ten losses have come to Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan. The squads have not faced any common non-conference opponents.
