LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference announced its 2022 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference selections and Gallaudet University landed three players on the first and second teams. Junior opposite Emily Wright (Auburn, Calif.) was selected to the first team for a second straight year while freshman outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) and junior middle hitter Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) landed on the second team.
Wright last year’s United East Rookie of the Year is back on the all-conference first team. Earlier this season she was named United East Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week (Sept. 26) and was selected to three all-tournament teams during the month of September. Wright ranks 23rd in NCAA Division III for kills, 32nd in points, 66th in total attacks and 93rd in kills per set. She leads the United East in attack attempts (95), sets played (113), second in kills (383), fourth in kills per set (3.39), points (426.5), points per set (3.77) and eighth in hitting percentage (.236). Wright was a 2021 AVCA All-Region First Team honoree and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.
Lummer makes her first appearance on the United East all-conference team after a successful rookie campaign where she finished second on the team with 292 kills in 32 matches started and added 306 digs, 46 service aces and 18 assists and blocks. Lummer recorded seven double-doubles and tallied a career best 18 kills and 18 digs against Elizabethtown (Sept. 10). The outside hitter ranks fifth in the United East for points (348) and sixth in points per set average (3.14).
Perry makes her first appearance on the United East all-conference team for volleyball. The middle hitter returned to the volleyball court for the first time since 2019 and made an immediate impact for the buff and blue. Perry finished the season with 63 blocks (23 solo), 180 kills and 52 digs. She made three or more blocks in 11 matches and ranks 94th in NCAA Division III for hitting percentage (.310). Perry is third in the United East for blocks, fourth in hitting percentage, sixth in blocks per set (0.57) and made a career best seven blocks (five solo) against Goucher (Sept. 28).
