COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael’s College women’s sophomore Alexandra Báez Rentas (San Juan, Puerto Rico/New Dimensions) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 6. She was recognized for the fourth time this season, matching the most NE10 accolades for a Purple Knight since Natalie Moore ’17 landed a quartet of honors in 2015.
Báez Rentas averaged 6.4 assists, 5.1 digs and 1.3 kills per set while adding five blocks over the weekend from her spot at setter. In a 3-1 loss to Southern Connecticut State University on Friday, she totaled 24 assists, 21 digs, six kills and a block. During another 3-1 setback to regionally-ranked University of New Haven on Saturday, Báez Rentas turned in 27 assists, 20 digs, four blocks, four kills and an ace.
Báez Rentas turned in at least 20 assists and 20 digs in five matches, doing so four times in the final six contests alone. With the Purple Knights’ season complete, she is ninth in the NE10 in assists per set (7.2) and 10th in digs average (3.8), the most by a primary setter across the league. Báez Rentas, who added 61 kills, 18 blocks, and 12 aces to just four service errors, led the squad in assists (536) and digs (278) for the second straight season, becoming the first Purple Knight to turn the feat in the recorded history of the program.
