Fighting Illini Volleyball Announces Spring Slate

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois Volleyball Head Coach Chris Tamas announced the program’s spring 2023 slate on Wednesday afternoon. The Fighting Illini are set for three matches including one at Huff Hall.

The Orange and Blue open the spring season at home with a match against Eastern Illinois on March 4. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. The Fighting Illini swept the Panthers during the 2022 season as Jessica Nunge logged a match-high 14 kills during the victory.

The team follows the home tilt with a road trip to Valmeyer, Ill., for a contest against Lindenwood. The game at Valmeyer High School is slated for 1 p.m. on March 25.

In the final match of the spring season, Illinois will battle Notre Dame at McAuley High School in Chicago at 2 p.m. on April 1. The Fighting Irish went 10-18 last season including a 5-13 mark in ACC play.

Admission for the Illini’s match at Huff Hall is free. Tickets for the contest against Lindenwood will be $2 while entry to the tilt with Notre Dame will cost $5.

The Fighting Illini boast a 115-67 record under Tamas. Last season, outside hitter Raina Terry was named a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team. Additionally, the Marengo, Ohio, native earned AVCA All-Region Honors.
