SEATTLE—The University of Washington Beach Volleyball Team is sending four players down to Huntsville, Alabama for the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach National Championships. UW will play Friday November 3rd starting at 10:00 a.m. and will wrap up play on Sunday November 5th.
The Falls National Championship is the culmination of the fall season as the tournament is comprised of the 64 best pairs from across the nation including players across Division 1, Division II and NAIA. The majority of the bids—52 of the 64—were offered based on selection criteria based on 2023 results/records, and the final 12 went to top place winners at regional qualifiers.
Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock are coming off a stellar performance in the West Coast Championships two weeks ago as the pair earned a bid to the final showdown in the fall when they upset numerous higher seeded teams to advance to quarterfinals. Henson is a high school All-American and Wilcock is a 2022 AVCA Top Flight award winner from South Carolina. The duo heads into the competition ranked No. 25.
Piper Monk-Heidrich is representing the Huskies for the second straight year at the Fall National Championship. Monk-Heidrich is playing with Natalie Martin as the No. 35th seed. Martin is coming off of a successful run with the Cal Bears as a pivotal member of the seventh ranked team last year.
LAST TIME OUT: Fall National Championships
Seniors Chloe Loreen and Natalie Robinson made some noise in the first Falls National Championship last year as they took fourth place, being two wins away from the championship
