World ParaVolley is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Level II Coaching Award for Sitting Volleyball. Developed under the expert guidance of Matt Rogers and the WPV Coaches Commission, this advanced course is now ready for applicants.
Qualified candidates are invited to express their interest in this pioneering program. The Level II course is designed to equip candidates with the skills to independently plan, deliver and evaluate high-performance sitting volleyball activities, including coaching in competitions. Developed by leading coach educators from around the world, the course offers an exceptional opportunity for growth. Additionally, candidates from certain countries may be eligible for IPC grant funding to cover their course costs.
As this is a pilot programme, there will be many more opportunities and courses in the future. World ParaVolley encourages all interested candidates to apply and be part of this exciting development phase.
The comprehensive curriculum includes critical topics such as individual athlete support, classification rules and processes, session planning, skill acquisition and drill management, managing team staff, team systems and tactics, match analysis and coaching philosophy. The programme comprises 36 learning objectives and includes 55-60 educational hours, divided into 15 hours of e-learning, 15-20 hours of self-study and 24 hours of practical training.
Prospective candidates must meet the following prerequisites: a minimum age of 21 years, a supporting letter from a WPV member country (if applicable), and possession of the WPV Level I coaching sitting volleyball qualification, a valid national Level II or above coaching volleyball qualification, or a valid FIVB Level I or II coaching volleyball qualification.
Interested candidates musts complete the application form and submit evidence of their qualifications to coaches@worldparavolley.org.
Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to candidates from the Asia Oceania zone, which is hosting the practical (Part B) element of the course.
