EUGENE, OR – Maryland volleyball was defeated by No. 11 Oregon in consecutive sets (21-25, 24-26, 17-25) on Friday at Matthew Knight Arena. The match was the first ever between Maryland and Oregon in program history. The Terps are 10-10 overall and 1-8 in Big Ten play.
In set one, the Terps led by as many as five points (7-2 and 15-10), but the Ducks sparked a late run to earn the come-from-behind win. Maryland trailed the entire second set until engineering a 5-0 run late to take a 23-21 advantage. However, the Ducks rallied back to win the set. Oregon maintained control of the final set to secure the win.
Sam Csire led Maryland with 10 kills, adding five digs and a block. Sydney Bryant provided seven kills and two digs. Eva Rohrbach (five kills and two aces) and Anastasia Russ (four kills and two blocks) were other standouts.

Samantha Schnitta added eight kills, eight digs, two blocks and one ace. She has 58 aces on the season, ranking first in the NCAA.
Zoe Huang (18) and Sydney Dowler (12) combined for 30 assists. Lilly Gunter (12) and Ally Williams (12) combined for 24 digs. Williams also added two aces.
Oregon improved to 15-3 overall and 7-2 in Big Ten play. All three of its losses have come against higher-ranked opponents (No. 4 Pittsburgh, No. 3 Penn State and No. 9 Wisconsin)
