Arizona Loses in Three Sets to Kansas State

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats were swept by the Kansas State Wildcats (26-28, 17-25, 18-25) on Wednesday night.   
 
Arizona out-blocked Kansas State 6.0-4.0, but K-State hit .285 to overcome Arizona. Jordan Wilson led Arizona’s attack with 11 kills and Carlie Cisneros led the defense with 12 digs.  
 
Kansas State won the first set, 28-26. In a back-and-forth opening set with 18 tie scores, Arizona was led by Wilson who recorded six kills. Kiari Robey led Arizona’s defense with two blocks, but Kansas State had a .314 hitting percentage and served two aces to win the first set.    
 
The second set went to K-State, 25-17. Arizona was aced three times and Kansas State out-hit Arizona, .326-.163 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Jaelyn Hodge had five kills and Wilson followed with three kills, but it wasn’t enough for Arizona in the second set.
 
Arizona dropped the third set, 18-25, to lose the match. Although Arizona’s defense had three blocks, the offense hit just .079. Cisneros, Wilson, and Journey Tucker all had two kills, but K-State tallied 17 kills to win the final set.
 
Arizona will host No. 8 Kansas on Friday, November 8 at 6 p.m. MST in McKale Center.
