WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women’s volleyball team made the trek across the Bay Bridge to Maryland’s Eastern Shore here Saturday to play two non-conference matches against Ursinus College and Washington College. The Bison came away with two victories in the Penny J. Fall Gym.
Gallaudet (9-10) started the afternoon with a four-set win, 3-1, over Ursinus (4-7) as GU won the first, third and fourth sets; 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 25-20. Sophomore opposite Emily Wright (Auburn, Calif.) led the way with 23 kills while senior outside hitter Karita Lewis ( Frederick, Md.) recorded the double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs to go with four aces. Sophomore setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 49 assists while junior Mia Upchurch (Austin, Texas) made 23 digs.
The Bison swept the host Washington College Shorewomen in the second match, 25-20, 25-17, 25-14. Wright tallied 10 kills, Giuntoli passed out 21 assists and Upchurch made 13 digs in a the quick win.

- Gallaudet had 21 total service aces in the two matches

UP NEXT
Gallaudet travels to Marymount (Va.) University on Wednesday, Oct. 6, for a non-conference match at 7 p.m. against the Saints (5-9).
