GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alabama volleyball fell in a hard-fought three set loss to No. 9 Florida on the road Sunday afternoon by set scores of 25-23, 29-27 and 25-19.
Alabama (10-6, 0-5 SEC) went toe-to-toe with ninth-ranked Florida (12-3, 4-2 SEC), falling in the opening set by only three points before battling past the 25-point mark in the second, ultimately dropping a 29-27 decision. A 25-19 win in the third for the Gators completed the match to secure the sweep.
The middles led the way for the Crimson Tide offensively Sunday, with Chaise Campbell and Alyiah Wells leading the team with 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Campbell’s 15 is a new career high and her .700 hitting percentage marked the second time this year she has hit .700 or better in a match. Callie Kieffer finished with 35 assists and 11 digs, good for her fifth double-double of the season and second in SEC play.
