After seven days of theoretical and practical learning, the Asian International Referee Candidate Course (AIRCC) from May 1 to 7 in Baghdad, Iraq concluded on a positive note, with all 16 candidates passing the theory exams and practical assessment to be presented with certificates.
FIVB Referee Instructor & FIVB Referee Coach Mr Waleed Abdelsamd from Egypt, himself Technical Secretary of Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Refereeing Commission, successfully conducted the referee course in both areas of theory and practice.
Mr Raad Hammoudy, President of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, presided over the certificate presentation and closing ceremony on Sunday. Also in attendance were Mr Jameel Aziz, President of the Iraq Volleyball Federation, and Dr Solwan Fransis, former national team player in 70s and 80s.
They welcomed all participants and talked about the importance of the referees in the sport, followed by the certificate presentation and the photo opportunity.
