PITTSBURGH – The dynamic duo, Rachel Fairbanks and Olivia Babcock, have notched ACC honors, announced on Monday afternoon. This marks the third ACC Freshman of the Week award for Fairbanks this season and first career ACC Offensive Player of the Week nod for Babcock.
Fairbanks recorded a match-high 33 assists in the sweep over No. 8 Georgia Tech on Friday night in Atlanta. She added a match-high eight digs, two kills and a block while leading Pitt to a blistering .440 team hitting percentage.
Babcock registered a match-high 15 kills on 23 swings with zero errors in the sweep against No. 8 Georgia Tech, hitting .652, a career-high recording 10 or more kills. She also contributed four blocks, three digs and two aces. In the match, Babcock averaged 6.33 points per set, 5.00 kills per set, 1.33 blocks per set, 1.00 digs per set and 0.67 aces per set.
