TEMPE, ARIZ — The University of Washington Beach Volleyball team finished the Pac-12 South Tournament 2-2 after falling to No. 1 UCLA 0-5 and No. 3 USC 0-5 on Saturday.
The Beach Dawgs opened the last day of the Pac-12 South Tournament taking on No. 1 UCLA for the second time this season. Washington pushed two of the matches into three sets. Scarlett Dahl and Kendall Mather (No. 3) went on two 5-0 runs in the first set to keep it close before ultimately falling in the third set. Kierstyn Barton and Natalie Martin (No. 5) battled back and forth in the final set with excellent defense before losing by two points.
The Huskies went blow for blow with No. 3 USC in every match, as all Husky pairs scored at least 17 points in a set once. Martin and Barton were elevated from the No. 5 spot to the No. 4 spot against the Trojans as they scored 19 and 18 points in two sets. Dahl and Mather (No. 3) also scored 19 and 18 points in their two two sets.
