Nourse Twins Reach 100 in No. 3 USC Beach Volleyball’s Sweep of No. 14 Washington

TEMPE, Ariz. – The third-ranked USC beach volleyball team (10-2) took down 14th-ranked Washington (5-7) with a 5-0 result at the Pac-12 South Invitational at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility on Saturday, March 9. 
The Women of Troy won their sixth straight dual and improved to 10-0 all-time in meetings with the Huskies. In 5-0 matches, the Trojans improved to 144-2 all-time and collected their sixth clean sweep of the season. USC goes to 34-1 all-time in the state of Arizona.
The day’s headline belonged to twin graduates Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse. The duo claimed a 21-17, 21-15 win over Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock at the No. 2 position to open scoring in the dual. More importantly, the win was the 100th for the twins as a pair. Their 100 wins are the most by a USC pair in dual matches as they pass All-Americans Kelly Claes (Cheng) and Sara Hughes, who went 99-4 in duals and 48-0 in tournament matches (147-4 total). Earlier in the day, Audrey collected her 100th individual victory.
The Trojans added a second point on a win from the No. 4 position where freshman Madison Goellner and sophomore Madison White took down Kierstyn Barton and Natalie Martin in straight sets, 21-19, 21-18. The dual was clinched from the No. 5 pair of freshman Ashley Pater and graduate Ainsley Radell on a 21-14, 21-18 win over Brooke Balue and Josie Ulrich.
The score went to 4-0 moments later when USC’s No. 1 pair of All-American seniors Megan Kraft and Delaynie Maple improved to 11-1 on the season with a 21-12, 21-13 win over Piper Monk-Heidrich and Magdalena Rabitsch. The Trojans’ No. 3 duo of graduates Maddi Kriz and Grace Seits tied a bow on the 5-0 sweep with a 21-19, 21-18 win over Scarlett Dahl and Kendall Mather.
USC continues play at the Pac-12 South Invitational on Sunday (March 10) with a noon PT matchup against No. 19 Arizona (8-1) and a 2 p.m. dual with Oregon (1-9). Both matches can be seen live on Pac-12 Networks and via the Pac-12 NOW app.
