The highly successful 2023 beach volleyball season and 2024 calendar were discussed

The FIVB Beach Volleyball Commission this week celebrated what has been a remarkable year for the sport during its annual meeting which was held in a hybrid format, with the Commission President Vicente Araujo and Secretary Edward Drakich both joining from the FIVB Headquarters.

During the meeting, the Commission reflected on the successful Beach Pro Tour 2023 with 51 events all across the world, including 9 Elite16, 10 Challenge, 31 Futures events. The second season of the tour is set to culminate with the Finals in Doha later this year.

Another highlight of the year included the fantastic 2023 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, which were held in Mexico for the first time in history. From the stand-alone opening ceremony and 10 days of exciting matches across three cities in the Tlaxcala region, Mexico once again proved its strong hosting credentials with full venues, passionate fans and an incredible atmosphere.
