COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Big Ten announced the schedule for the 2024 Volleyball Media Days in a release on Tuesday. Media days will take place August 5-6, and will once again be held in Chicago at the Big Ten Studios. Maryland will headline the coverage on August 5, along with eight other programs.
This season will mark the first for the conference’s newest members. UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Washington will be heading into their first season in the Big Ten, moving the size of the conference from 14 to 18 member institutions.
Maryland will be featured on day one of media day coverage on August 5. The Terps will be joined by Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Rutgers, and Wisconsin. Day 2 will feature the rest of the returning conference institutions Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, and Purdue, while also featuring the conference’s four newest members. More information on the scheduling of the event will be released at a later time.
The Terrapins are coming off their third consecutive season with a winning record in 2023 and their third-straight season with a victory over an AVCA Top 25 team. Most of the 2023 roster returns for the Terps, including Samantha Schnitta, Sam Csire, Lilly Gunter, Anastasia Russ, and Sydney Dowler. The Terps also welcome an outstanding high school class, headlined by 2022 MaxPreps High School First Team All-American Lilly Wagner.
