Black & Gold Volleyball Scrimmage Set for Saturday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Volleyball program will host its annual Black & Gold Scrimmage Saturday at Hearnes Center. First service is set for 1 p.m., CT.

Admission to Saturday’s scrimmage is free for all fans and no ticket is needed.

Fans in attendance will receive free pizza, while supplies last, and can grab post-match autographs from the team following the scrimmage.

Mizzou will host a free clinic prior to the intrasquad Saturday at 11 a.m. Check-in will be held on the East Side of Hearnes. Signup for the free clinic is currently available online.

The 2023 season marks the first for head coach Dawn Sullivan at the helm of the program. Sullivan has added seven transfers and four freshmen since her arrival in Mid-Missouri this past December.

The Tigers return juniors Jordan Iliff, Lauren Forbes, Morgan Isenberg, and sophomores Madilyn Sell and Janet deMarrais from the 2022 team.

Iliff, a right side hitter from St. Louis, Missouri, native, was named to the 2023 USA Volleyball Women’s Collegiate National Team in June. She was third on Mizzou offensively in 2022 with 227 kills (2.39 kills per set).

Following Saturday’s scrimmage, Mizzou will face Iowa State in exhibition play on Saturday, Aug. 19 before commencing the season with a pair of home tournaments on Aug. 25-27 and Sept. 1-3.
