COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (15-5, 11-1 B1G) travels to Northwestern (17-7, 6-6 B1G) and Michigan State (10-13, 1-11 B1G) this weekend. Friday’s match at NW is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Saturday’s match at MSU will begin at 7 p.m. ET. Both matches will be broadcast on B1G+.

  • Ohio State enters the weekend with a 15-5 overall record and a 11-1 record in Big Ten play, which was tied for the conference lead after OSU’s most recent match.
  • OSU battled to a five-set win (19-25, 27-25, 26-28, 25-14, 17-15) at No. 11 Penn State on Saturday with Gabby Gonzales recording a career-high 24 kills.
  • The Buckeyes were ranked sixth in this week’s AVCA poll and in the Oct. 29 NCAA Committee rankings.
  • Ohio State continues to have a balanced attack with three averaging at least 3.00 kills/set apiece – Emily Londot (3.70), Gabby Gonzales (3.41) and Jenaisya Moore (3.00).
  • Northwestern enters the weekend a 17-7 overall record and an even 6-6 Big Ten record. The Wildcats are riding a four-match win streak after beating (then) No. 12 Purdue in five sets (25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-11) and swept Iowa (26-24, 25-23, 25-21) last weekend in Evanston.
  • The Wildcats are 3-4 against ranked opponents this season with wins against No. 7 Minnesota, No. 12 Purdue and No. 24 Pepperdine.
  • Temi Thomas-Ailara leads the NW offense (ranks third in the Big Ten) with 4.21 kills/set, while Megan Miller leads the back row (ranks second in the Big Ten) with 4.29 digs/set.
  • Ohio State leads 58-19 in the all-time series against Northwestern and has the 23-11 advantage when playing the Wildcats in Evanston.
