Centennial Conference Athletes of the Week - Sept. 20-26


LANCASTER, Pa. — With four week of the fall 2021 season now in the books, Centennial Conference play is well underway and will continue to heat up over the next month. Weekly awards are listed below in the sports of men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball. 

This week’s award winners include Christopher Scharf of Dickinson men’s cross country, Elaina Clancy of Dickinson women’s cross country, Ravenel Davis of Haverford field hockey, Erin McIlhenny of Ursinus field hockey, A.J. Kopacz of Franklin & Marshall men’s soccer, Tyler Lewin of Ursinus men’s soccer, Meg Tate of Dickinson women’s soccer, Emily Cleary of Franklin & Marshall women’s soccer, and Courtney Maxwell of Washington College volleyball.

Athlete of the Week

Christopher Scharf, Sr., Dickinson

Elizabethtown, Pa. | Elizabethtown

Scharf won the long race to help lead Dickinson to the combined team title at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School on Saturday. In the 8K long race, Scharf crossed the finish line in 26:06.92 to outpace a field of 141 runners. 

Athlete of the Week

Elaina Clancy, Sr., Dickinson

Boiling Springs, Pa. | Boiling Springs 

Clancy posted a time of 22:38.21 to win the long race at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Big Spring High School. She outpaced the 125-runner field by almost a minute as the next-closet competitor was Aubrey Wingeart out of Waynesburg University (23:35.11). Her win combined with strong efforts from her teammates helped the Red Devils to claim the combined team title at the event.

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Ravenel Davis, Sr., F/M, Haverford

Richmond, Va. | Trinity Episcopal School

Davis yet again was the offensive spark for the Fords, notching a career-best six points with a pair of goals and a pair of assists in Haverford’s lone game of the week, a 4-1 over McDaniel in the Centennial Conference opener.
