Colorado Opens Up Spring Season Saturday

BOULDER – The Colorado women’s volleyball team will kick off the 2023 spring season this Saturday against Air Force at 10:45 a.m. in Boulder. The teams will first be competing in mini-games before transitioning to a scrimmage style later on in the day.

The Buffaloes will play four matches this spring, Saturday against Air Force, at Colorado State on Apr. 8, at Wyoming on Apr. 15, and then finish out the season at home against the University of Northern Colorado on Apr. 22.

Colorado is coming off an impressive 20-11 season, finishing fifth in the Pac-12 with a conference record of 12-8.

The 2023 spring roster will have a lot of new faces, but CU will also have some key players returning from the fall season including Maya Tabron, Taylor Simpson, Alexia Kuehl and Lexi Hadrych.

Since returning to Boulder for the spring semester, the Buffs have been training hard and building chemistry on and off the hardwood. Head Coach Jesse Mahoney sent Hadrych, Morgan Riddle, and first year Sydney Jordan to participate in the USAVB

National Team Open at Colorado Springs in the final weekend of February to get even more practice before heading into the season.

The two scrimmages being played at the CU Events Center will be free to the public to attend.
