Kensinger, Williamson Named All-Americans - Arizona State University Athletics

LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the first time in program history, Sun Devil Beach Volleyball has All-Americans after both sophomore Daniella Kensinger and freshman Ava Williamson earned AVCA Second Team All-America honors.

This pair has been on the No. 1 court for the past 12 duals and has made history by becoming the first All-Americans in Sand Devil history.

Sophomore Daniella Kensinger has had a strong year for Arizona State, playing on the top court all season and earning a 19-11 record. At the ones, she has earned wins over pairs from the following ranked teams: FAU, Stanford, Stetson, Grand Canyon, Washington, Arizona and Cal. She started the season paired with junior Anya Pemberton before freshman Ava Williamson moved up to play with Kensinger about halfway through the season.

Freshman Ava Williamson currently leads the team in wins with a 24-6 record between the one and two pairs. Earlier this season, Williamson and sophomore Arden Besecker dominated as the No. 2 duo and earned a spot in the record book as they won nine straight games together. After switching to the top spot with Kensinger, Williamson stayed successful, going 9-3 on that court in the last 12 duals. She has earned 14 wins over pairs from ranked teams, including top-10 wins such as TCU, Stanford and Cal.

Arizona State is set to compete in the NCAA Championships this Friday against Cal Poly at 8 a.m. MST/10 a.m. CDT on ESPNU.
