Devils Fall 3-1 at No. 8 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Sun Devil Volleyball took a set from No. 8 Stanford on the road, but the comeback effort fell short as Arizona State fell in four sets (25-22, 25-11, 22-25, 25-14) on Thursday night at Maples Pavilion.

Notable Stats

  • Arizona State (11-18, 5-12 Pac-12) lost the first two sets before winning the third, but Stanford (21-4, 16-1 Pac-12) extended its winning streak to 15.
  • Junior pin hitter Marta Levinska led the team in kills with 15, making it nine consecutive matches in double figures. She also added eight digs.
  • Senior setter Shannon Shields earned her fifth double-double of the season with 32 assists and 13 digs.
  • Another Sun Devil with double-digit kills was senior outside hitter Iman Isanovic, earning 12 digs for 11 in a row with double-digit kills.
  • Senior libero Annika Larson-Nummer,  who was in the libero jersey for the first two sets, notched 11 digs tonight, improving her career-long streak of double-digit digs to 14 in a row.
  • Taking over at libero in sets three and four was sophomore outside hitter Geli Cyr. She had 10 digs tonight, as well as three kills.
  • Junior outside hitter Roberta Rabelo saw time in the last two sets, tallying seven kills and seven digs.
  • At middle blocker, junior Claire Jeter led the team with three blocks, adding five kills and two aces as well.
