Egypt and Morocco secured their spots in the men’s final of the ParaVolley Africa Sitting Volleyball Zone Championships at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
On Friday, Egypt defeated Algeria in the first semifinal match with a scoreline of 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-13), while Morocco claimed the second semifinal match win with a tight 3-2 (23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10) finish against Rwanda.
Earlier in the day, Kenya clinched fifth place with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-13) triumph over Libya. Host Nigeria finished seventh overall in the men’s competition.
The final day of African Zone Championship will feature three matches, starting with the men’s classification for third and fourth places, followed by the women’s and men’s finals. The battle for men’s bronze between Algeria and Rwanda is scheduled at 14:00 local time (GMT+1)
In the women’s final, Rwanda and Kenya will meet at 16:00. These two squads have met twice in the preliminary round with the women’s world No. 5 Rwanda winning both those encounters.
Egypt and Morocco faced each other in pool play and will contest the men’s title at 17:30.
