Lexington, KY – The American Volleyball Coaches Association is proud to announce this year’s NVA/AVCA All-America Teams for NAIA men’s volleyball. Each of the two All-America Teams includes 12 student-athletes, and additional players received honorable mention honors.
Representing Grand View was Francisco Arredondo (JR/Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic ), Daniel Wong (SO/Campbell, CA), Daniel Galili (FR/Shomrat, Israel), Bayron Valdez (SO/Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), and Erick Villar Cordero.
Francisco Arredondo | 3X First-Team All-American
The three-time first-team All-American heads up a potent Viking offense with his NAIA-best assists-per-set average (10.69). He has helped Grand View to the No. 1 national ranking again in 2022 heading into the NAIA Nationals. The Viking has also chipped in 86 digs.
Daniel Wong | 2X Second-Team All-American
The sophomore is two for two in his young career, earning second-team All-American honors in 2021 and again this season. Wong has recorded a .429 hitting percentage from the middle this season along with 80 blocks (0.94 per set).
Daniel Galili | All-American Honorable Mention
In his first season as a Viking, Galili made an immediate impact amassing 258 kills on the season (3.07 per set). The freshman ranks inside the top ten of the NAIA this season with a team-high 45 aces.
Bayron Valdez | All-American Honorable Mention
Earning his first All-American nod this season, Valdez has started 18 matches and has collected 204 kills thus far on the season. He recorded a season-high 19 kills during Grand View’s sweep over then No.10 Saint Xavier.
Erick Villar Cordero | All-American Honorable Mention
The junior libero earned the first All-American award of his Viking career this season. The Viking has collected 240 digs on the year (2.76 per set), recording a season-high 19 in Grand View’s 3-1 victory over Clarke.
