Grad Transfer Savannah Kjolhede Signs with Volleyball

TEMPE – The 2024 roster added more depth in the middle with graduate transfer middle blocker Savannah Kjolhede set to join the squad from Indiana University.

“Savannah adds a great deal of athleticism, physicality, and experience to our roster,” head coach JJ Van Niel said. “She will add an extra dimension to our offense with her proficiency on the slide, and she also has the ability to shut down attackers on the other side of the net. On top of all of that, Savannah genuinely cares about relationships and will be a great teammate and fit culturally. We are so glad she decided to join the Sun Devil family!”

Kjolhede will graduate with her bachelor’s in management in May and make her way to Tempe in the summer.

The 6-3 Colleyville, Texas native was a key part of the Hoosiers in each of the last three seasons, seeing playing time in her freshman year as well. A strong presence at the net, she became the 14th Hoosier to record 300 career blocks, finishing her career in 10th for career blocks with 359. Her career high in blocks is 12, which she earned against Illinois.

On offense, Kjolhede is a threat as well. Her career high in kills is 13, which she notched in 2023 at Long Beach State. She had seven matches last season with double-digit kills. In her career, she has 637 kills and has a hitting percentage of .305. In 2023, she broke the program record for hitting percentage in Big Ten only contests (.379).
