Huskies Close the Door on the Fall Season

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huskies wrapped the 2023 fall beach volleyball season as the final day of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Pairs National Championships came to a close on Sunday, November 5th.

During the final day of play in the consolation bracket, Lauren Wilcock and Zoey Henson dispatched Lapata/Sharkey from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in two quick sets after winning by eight in the final set.

Wilcock and Henson pushed Tome/Young from Texas A&M Corpus Christi to a close three-set match but came up short in their second and final match. The Husky duo finished 3-4 this weekend.

On the other side of the consolation bracket, Natalie Martin and Piper Monk-Heidrich fell short in a back-and-forth three-set match against Corpus Christi. The pair finished 1-5 this weekend.

Wilcock/Henson def. Lapata/Sharkey (UNCW) 21-19, 21-13 

Tome/Young (TAMCC) def. Wilcock/Henson 16-21, 21-15, 15-12 

Bobay/Johnson (TAMCC) def. Martin/Monk-Heidrich 21-16, 21-23, 18-16
