Lauren Woodford Set to Join Lady Vols

On Wednesday, head volleyball coach Eve Rackham Watt announced the addition of setter Lauren Woodford. A transfer from Syracuse, Woodford will join the program in the summer and has two years of eligibility remaining.

“We are looking forward to Lauren joining our program this summer,” Rackham Watt said. “She will bring great maturity and match experience from her time at Syracuse. Lauren is a top-notch student-athlete who will pursue her MBA, while having two seasons of eligibility left. I am excited for what she will bring culturally and the work ethic she will add to our gym. Everyone is excited to get Lauren to campus and watch her development.”

Starting in all 28 matches for the Orange last season, Woodford led the team with 568 assists and averaged 5.51 assists per set. She recorded a personal-best 33 assists on Nov. 26 against NC State. Versus Bryant on Sept. 16, she notched a career-high 14 digs.

A native of Edina, Minnesota, Woodford was selected to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. The award added to her list of academic honors which include Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Athletic Director Honor Roll accolades from Syracuse and 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition.

Prior to her time in Upstate New York, Woodford was a two-year captain at Spring Lake Park High School and was named to the NWSC All-Conference Team in 2017 and 2018.
