Lewis' Max Roquet Named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American


LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Monday (April 29) that Lewis junior outside hitter Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) has been named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American. 

Roquet also earned a First Team All-MIVA honor this season. The Johnston, Iowa native excelled in several areas, earning top-15 marks in the conference in kills per set at 3.63 (sixth, No. 20 in NCAA), attack percentage at .305 (No. 12, No. 37 in NCAA), blocks per set at 0.73 (No. 8) and digs per set at 1.61 (No. 12).

Roquet totaled 406 kills, 180 digs, 82 blocks, 27 assists, 18 service aces and had the best serve receive percentage for Lewis (min. 100 attempts) at .946 while playing in 29 matches this season, starting 28 of them.

Roquet helped the Flyers end the year ranked No. 17 after going 15-15 overall and 8-8 in MIVA play. Lewis earned victories over several outstanding teams this season, including No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament UC Irvine, No. 7 BYU, and No. 11 Ball State.
