LEXINGTON, Ky. – USC beach volleyball graduates Audrey Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) and Nicole Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) were named the American Volleyball Coaches Association/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week on Monday, April 29.
Nourse-Nourse collect the ninth all-time National Pair of the Week honor won by a Trojan duo. The twin sisters were also chosen for this award following the 2023 NCAA Championship (May 8). Earlier this spring, All-American seniors Megan Kraft (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) and Delaynie Maple (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) were tabbed for the same honor. This is the third time that Trojan pairs have earned the national weekly award twice in the same season (2021, ’23, ’24).
The Trojan tandem went 4-0 at the No. 3 position this week to help top-seeded USC capture the program’s fifth Pac-12 championship. Nourse-Nourse improved to 29-7 on the season and moved to 120-23 all-time as a pair. The Women of Troy earned a 3-0 win over second-seeded UCLA in the championship dual as the Nourse twins led off with a decisive 21-13, 21-11 win over Kenzie Brower and Jessie Smith.
In a pivotal contender’s bracket meeting with third-seeded Stanford, Nourse-Nourse won a three-set battle with Kelly Belardi and Chloe Hoffman, 21-19, 19-21, 15-11, to send the Trojans into the championship dual. Earlier in the tournament, the duo defeated Brower-Smith in straight sets, 21-18, 21-16, in a team dual loss to the Bruins. They also overpowered California’s Gia Fisher and Marilu Pally, 25-23, 21-15, in the winner’s bracket semifinal round.
No. 1-ranked USC (33-5) earned the top seed in the upcoming NCAA championship and will begin defense of its three consecutive national titles on Friday (May 3) with a round of 16 match-up against either Atlantic Sun champion North Florida (24-11) or Ohio Valley champion Chattanooga (19-9). All duals at the championship will be shown live by ESPNU and ESPN2.
