PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Junior Lexi Visintine was named the Rutgers recipient of the annual Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, it was announced on Wednesday by the conference office.
During the 2024 campaign, Visintine served up the second-most aces in a rally-era season (37) while collecting 136 kills, 33 assists, 164 digs and 16 blocks. The junior Scarlet Knight posted a pair of double-doubles with 10 kills and 11 digs against Iowa and 11 kills and 17 digs against then-No. 21 Arkansas. She tied her career-high twice during the year with 11 kills against the 21st-ranked Razorbacks and VCU, set a career-high in digs with 17 against Little Rock and recorded a career-high four blocks in a victory at Northwestern. In the nonconference finale with UMES, Visintine served up a career-high five aces and hit .500 against the Hawks with nine kills. Visintine led RU in aces in 11 matches, serving up three or more in five contests. With 55 career aces, she will need four more to move into the rally-era career top 10.
A finance and business analytics and information technology major, Visintine is a Academic All-Big Ten honoree and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
