Men’s Volleyball Drops Match Versus Kean

UNION, N.J. – The Immaculata men’s volleyball team dropped their Friday night contest against CVC rival Kean in a 3-0 sweep. Garrett Pepper led the Macs on the game with seven kills while Steven Dao earned five blocks in his season debut.
 
The Macs found themselves down 11-4 quickly in set one. A 7-1 run later in the set brought the Macs within striking distance at 19-16, but they were unable to convert as the Cougars took set one 25-19.
 
The Mighty Macs jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead in set two, looking to rebound. Up 18-14 later in the set, the Macs allowed eight-straight Cougar points as the Cougars claimed set two 25-20.
 
Immaculata was down 14-12 in set three when Kean scored four straight points, giving the team a six-point advantage. Immaculata was unable to recover as Kean secured the sweep with a 25-17 win in set three.
 
Pepper earned seven kills and seven digs on the game while Dao led the Macs with four blocks defensively while adding six kills. Joe Martell led the team on the day in assists with 19.
 
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Thursday as they travel to Neumann.
