No. 10 Georgia Tech Hosts Virginia, No. 9 Pitt – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – No. 10 Georgia Tech volleyball (10-3, 3-1 ACC) will host an eventful third weekend of ACC play, welcoming Virginia (8-7, 0-4 ACC) and No. 9 Pitt (14-2, 4-0 ACC) to The Flats.

The Yellow Jackets will first host the Cavaliers on Friday at 7 p.m. before a top-10 contest against the Panthers for the program’s first ever match in McCamish Pavilion on Sunday at 2 p.m. The White and Gold’s matchup against the Cavaliers will appear on ACC Network Extra before the highly contested battle with the Panthers is broadcast on ACC Network.

Parking

For both matches, free parking will be available in the McCamish Pavilion lot, the East O’Keefe Gymnasium lot and the Family Housing lot. Heavier traffic than usual is expected on Friday due to softball’s fall opener against South Carolina at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, ADA spots will also be available on Fowler Street from 10th Street to 6th Street.

Promotions

This weekend will be recognized as Alumni Weekend. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the Yellow Jackets will be sporting throwback threads inspired by the uniforms worn by program’s first official team in 1980 on Friday. Before the match against Virginia, Georgia Tech slap bracelets will also be given out.

Sunday’s top-10 battle against No. 9 Pitt for the first ever volleyball match in McCamish Pavilion will be recognized as a Gold Out. Georgia Tech gold adidas t-shirts will be given out while supplies last, and fans are encouraged to wear gold. A raffle will also be held during the match with prizes including an Amazon Echo Show 5, a MacBook and four sets of AirPods. Prior to the match, a tailgate for students with food and activities will also be held outside the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

Alumni specific activities include a pre-match tailgate at 5:30 p.m., recognition during the match and a post-match reception with the current team in the locker room on Friday. For Sunday’s match, activities will continue in McCamish Pavilion with a pre-match brunch at noon in the Callaway Club.
