Nuneviller Selected in Athletes Unlimited College Draft

EUGENE, Ore. – Brooke Nuneviller was the first pick in Monday’s Athletes Unlimited Volleyball College Draft to join the league for its 2023 championship season. She was a three-time AVCA All-American at Oregon. Nuneviller is currently playing professionally for Nilüfer Belediyespor in Turkey.

As part of the league’s structure, Nuneviller wasn’t drafted by a team but instead becomes part of the roster pool that holds a weekly draft during the season. The third championship season of the Athletes Unlimited league is headed to the Phoenix area this October and November.

The Chandler, Ariz., native averaged a career-best 3.98 kills per set while hitting .281—another career-best figure—to go along with 2.92 digs per set and 22 double-doubles during her senior season for the Ducks. This past season, she helped lead Oregon to the regional final in Louisville, Ky.

Nuneviller was one of six former college standouts from this past season chosen in Monday’s draft. She was joined in the latest AU draft class by Gabby Blossom, Grace Frohling and Katie Lukes of San Diego, Danielle Hart of Wisconsin and Madi Kubik of Nebraska.

During her UO career, Nuneviller tallied 1,530 kills and 2,020 digs to become the first player in Pac-12 history to reach both 1,500 kills and 2,000 digs. She also finished her time in green and yellow with 70 career double-doubles.

Eight returners from last season have signed on for the upcoming 2023 championship season including former Oregon libero Amanda Benson who was second in the league with 214 digs in 2022. Former UO standouts Willow Johnson and Ronika Stone have also played in the Athletes Unlimited league.

As a part of a video interview series for VolleyballMag.com, Nuneviller recently caught up with former Oregon teammates and current pros Stone, Lauren Page and Lindsey Vander Weide. Page is currently playing in France while both Stone and Vander Weide are part of the LVSF in Puerto Rico.
