Road Swing Begins Friday in Pullman


EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 12 University of Oregon volleyball team takes its six-match winning streak on the road, opening the weekend Friday at Washington State in Pullman. The match begins at 7 p.m. (PT) on Pac-12 Oregon inside Bohler Gym. The Ducks are 10-2 this season with a 4-0 mark in Pac-12 play.
 
Oregon’s road trip also features a top-20 matchup at No. 16 Washington on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Ducks pushed their winning streak to six with a sweep of Arizona at Matthew Knight Arena. With the result, the Ducks moved to 4-0 in Pac-12 play for the first time since 2016. The UO offense produced a .368 hitting percentage while holding the Wildcats to a .133 figure. Oregon has now won its last four against Arizona, all in straight sets.

In Monday’s release of the AVCA Top 25, Oregon moved up to a season-high No. 12 spot in the coaches poll. The Ducks also check in at No. 8 in the first NCAA RPI release of the season. Prior to Sunday’s win over Arizona, the Ducks were seventh in the initial reveal of the NCAA Division I Committee Top 10.
 
She’s Back at It
For the fifth time this season, Mimi Colyer was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after averaging 5.70 points per set in wins over the Arizona teams. She becomes the fifth player in conference history to win at least five Freshman of the Week honors since the award was adopted in 2011, and the first to do so since 2015. During the weekend, Colyer tallied 4.17 kills per set, 4.17 digs per set, 1.17 blocks per set and five aces.
 
Go Off, Glo
Senior opposite Gloria Mutiri put down a season-high 14 kills on 20 swings with no errors in the Ducks’ sweep over Arizona State. She hit a career-best .700 in the match. The effort was her fourth of the year with double-digit kills coupled with two or fewer attack errors. Mutiri is hitting .335 this season and averaging 2.18 kills per set entering the weekend.
 
Becoming a Presence
Entering Friday’s match in Pullman, sophomore middle Kiari Robey is tied for second in the Pac-12 with 1.50 blocks per set. She recorded a career-high eight blocks in the three-set win over Arizona including the match-winning solo stuff. Robey has at least four blocks in six of the 10 matches she’s played in this season.
