Seeger Breaks Program All-Time Assists Record as Blue Jays Blaze Past Hood

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.– With his 30th assist in this evening’s 3-0 win over Hood, senior Nate Seeger now holds the Elizabethtown program all-time record in career-assists with 1,134. 

Seeger surpasses Dan Barckholtz ’23 who held the number one spot with 1,133 career-assists. The team also recorded a season-high of 16 service aces. 

Nick Chapman reached a career-high of six service aces to go along with match leading 15 kills (.600). Seeger also recorded a career-high of four service aces. Alex Finch totaled eight kills and eight digs while Logan Smith also totaled eight kills. 

The first set started close but Elizabethtown held the lead as Smith and Chapman smacked down kills to take a 9-5 lead. Hood tallied the next three to come within one, before Etown jumped out to a 16-10 lead. Chapman recorded three kills and two aces on the run. Hood and Etown traded points before the Blue Jays recorded the final four points to win set one, 25-14. 

Elizabethtown came out swinging in set two as Finch, Smith, Cody Boyer, and Chapman tallied the first kills to take a 10-5 lead over Hood. The Blue Jays then rattled off five straight points as Seeger added two straight service aces. The Blazers got a point before Etown went on a 6-0 run, taking a 23-8 lead with the help from three Chapman aces. Finch smacked down one final kill for Etown before a Blazer’s error ended the set, 25-10. 

The Blue Jays gained major momentum to start set three as they came out to a 9-1 lead. The two teams traded points for a while before a Boyer kill and Blazer attack error gave Etown a 13-3 lead….
