SEMINOLES HEAD TO CALIFORNIA FOR CENTER OF EFFORT CHALLENGE

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles (27-4) travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif. this weekend April 14-15 to take part in the Center of Effort Challenge. The Noles will take on No. 11 Long Beach State (19-11), No. 2 USC (21-1), No. 6 LMU (21-4), and one more opponent that will be decided based on how the FSU does in the earlier matches.

Friday will start with the Noles meeting No. 11 Long Beach State on the sand for the first time this season at 1:00 p.m. ET. The all-time record is currently tied at 5-5. The last time these two teams met was in 2019 in Los Angeles, Calif. where the Noles came away with a 5-0 win. LBSU is coming off a 9-3 record at the Bigger West Invitational.

The last match Friday will be against No. 2 USC at 6:00 p.m. ET. In another 2022 National Championship rematch, the Noles and the Women of Troy met at the East vs. West Invitational this year where USC came away with a narrow 3-2 win in the third set on court three. The series record is 19-5 in favor of USC. USC is coming off an undefeated weekend at the Pac-12 North Invitational going 4-0.

Saturday starts with a redemption match against No. 6 Loyola Marymount at 3:45 p.m. ET. The Seminoles took on the Lions last weekend at home at the Unconquered Invitational losing 3-1. The Noles currently lead the series record 9-2. LMU ended the Unconquered Invitational 3-1 after beating the Seminoles.

Saturday, April 15

No. 6 LMU          3:45 p.m. ET
