SEVEN STRONG TEAMS TO STRUT THEIR STUFF IN CAVA MEN’S VOLLEYBALL NATIONS LEAGUE 2023 IN KYRGYZSTAN IN JUNE

Bangkok, Thailand, April 19, 2023 – The Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Events and Referees Committee for Volleyball conducted the drawing of lots online on Wednesday for the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2023, which is due to be held in Kyrgyzstan from June 18 to 25.

During the online meeting which started at 2pm Maldives time, CAVA President Mr Mohamed Latheef addressed the gathering by thanking Mr Elmurza Satybaldiev, President of Kyrgyzstan Volleyball Federation, and KVF Secretary General Mr Kylych Sarbaghyshev, himself CAVA Secretary General, for hosting this Championship in Kyrgyzstan.

Mr Latheef also thanked the Presidents and Secretary Generals of Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan for sending teams to take part in this thrilling competition.

CAVA President Mr Latheef urged all participants to stay focused and prepare well for their matches. As top-ranked teams from CAVA have already confirmed their participation in this eight-day competition, he requested all NFs to give highest consideration and make it a memorable and successful event.

Mr Kylych highlighted the great support received from the Kyrgyzstan Government and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan for this important competition.

Mr Masoud Yazdanpanah from Iran, Chairman of CAVA Events and Referees Committee for Volleyball, explained about the competition format and competition regulations.

Aside from CAVA President Mr Latheef, CAVA Secretary General Mr Kylych and Chairman of CAVA Events and Referees Committee for Volleyball Mr Masoud, other Members of CAVA Events and Referees Committee for Volleyball were also attending the Wednesday’s online meeting.

Due to the competition information provided in a brief overview in the meeting, a total of seven strong teams confirmed their participation in the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2023. The participating teams and officials are due to arrive in Kyrgyzstan on June 16. The opening ceremony will take place on June 18, with all teams and officials departing on June 26.

The single round-robin event features hosts Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan, with only top two teams after the first round battling it out for the eventual title. The teams ranked third and fourth places will fight for the bronze medal in the third-place playoff.
