CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson setter Mckenna Slavik has been named an Academic All-District selection the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday. Slavik is one of 19 volleyball players from the ACC to be named to an Academic All-District team in 2022.
With the selection, Slavik has the opportunity to be named a First- or Second-Team Academic All-America honoree. Those will be announced in late December.
Senior Slavik, who is working towards a sports communication degree at Clemson, has started in 26 matches for the Tigers this season. She is second in the ACC in assists per set with 10.28, which also is 50th in the nation. She surpassed the 3,500 career assists earlier this season to become the seventh Tiger to accomplish the feat. Heading into the last week of the 2022 regular season, Slavik has moved into fifth all-time on Clemson’s career assist list with 3,779. She has also posted 10 double-doubles in 2022.
The Saint Charles, Illinois native is also a two-time Academic All-ACC selection and three-time ACC Honor Roll member with the Tigers.
To be eligible for Academic All-America honors, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or significant reserve for their respective teams.
