Slovenia and Germany earned victories on Day 4 of the 2024 WPV Sitting Volleyball Final Qualifier at the Dali International Olympic Sports Centre on Saturday.
Slovenia took centre stage once again, their dominance on full display against Japan. The European side swiftly secured a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-19) victory over their Asian opponents, extending their run to three wins.
Each set unfolded with masterful plays and strategic maneuvers, culminating in a comprehensive win for Slovenia. For Japan, it marked their third consecutive loss in the tournament, highlighting the challenge posed by their Slovenian counterparts.
The all-European encounter between Germany and Ukraine was filled a lot of twists and turns, with the former emerging victorious after a gruelling battle with a scoreline of 3-2 (21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 14-25, 15-13).
As both teams traded blows in the encounter, despite facing setbacks, Germany rallied together to secure their first win of the tournament. As they clinched their victory with a narrow margin, they left the spectators in awe of their tenacity.
In the all-Asian exhibition match, China asserted their dominance with a commanding performance against Iran. From the outset, China meant business, executing plays with precision and finesse.
While Iran put up a valiant effort against the three-time Paralympic champions, they were unable to match the sheer skill displayed by the Chinese team, which emerged victorious with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-13) win.
