ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women’s volleyball team fell in its Saturday afternoon matchup to the Hawks from Hartwick College, 3-0. The Hawks, who held EC to just 33 points on the afternoon, powered to hit .471% from the floor, using 36 kills to its advantage.
The Soaring Eagles were paced offensively by Makenna Clark ’25, who hit .286% from the floor to go along with seven kills, while Asia Curkendall ’25 and Madi Conti ’28 each notched four kills a piece.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks would take the first set of the afternoon 25-8 after scoring eight of the first nine points in the match. That lead would eventually grow to 18-4, before the home team concluded the first frame with a pair of kills.
- In the second, EC would start the set by holding an 11-10 advantage, before five straight points for Hartwick put the home team ahead. From there, Hartwick would not surrender the lead for the remainder of the set, scoring seven of the last eight points in the frame to take the 25-16 second set.
- Hartwick would eventually take the third set 25-10, hitting .571% from the floor while notching 12 kills and zero attacking errors.

The Soaring Eagles return home next weekend to take on SUNY Poly on Friday. First serve inside Speidel Gymnasium is set for 7:00 PM.
