The 2023 Lady Vol’s schedule features 14 home matches, starting with the Tennessee Classic on Aug. 25-26. The Big Orange will take on five teams inside Thompson-Boling Arena that advanced to the second round or better in last year’s NCAA Tournament. Fans can get their first glimpse of the squad on Wednesday, Aug. 23, when the Lady Vols hold Orange & White Scrimmage and Rowdies Round-Up.

Heading into this year, the Lady Vols have plenty of momentum and excitement this season, as the squad returns several key contributors and brings strong freshman and transfer classes. Tennessee will be led by Morgahn Fingall, who earned All-America honors last season after posting a career-high 483 kills.

Overall, UT returns its top four attackers from a year ago, with Fingall (483), Erykah Lovett (379), Keondreya Granberry (149) and Jasmine Brooks (133) accounting for 74 percent of the Lady Vols’ total kills. On the defensive side, the Big Orange brings back three of its top four blockers in Granberry (103), Fingall (75) and Klaudia Pawlik (67).

Tennessee added plenty of new faces and talent to the roster as well, bringing in nine student-athletes. Jenaisya Moore is an outside hitter from Ohio State, who totaled 841 career kills during her four seasons in Columbus, while Raeven Chase arrives as a two-time All-MAC First Team middle blocker from Eastern Michigan, where she recorded 100 or more blocks during each of her final three seasons.

Lauren Woodford, who has two years of eligibility from Syracuse, started all 28 matches for the Orange last year while posting 568 assists. Rounding out the transfers, Bowling Green libero transfer Yelianiz Torres is coming off a season in which she finished with a career-high 579 digs, averaging 4.91 digs per set, and earned MAC All-Tournament Team honors.
