Elizabethton, Tenn.- The volleyball team played their final game of the season on Tuesday. The schedule saw the Lady Bulldogs close the season with an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest against the Milligan University Lady Buffaloes.

A service ace by Amya Sutton helped the team take a 3-1 lead early in the first set. Olivia Miller‘s kill followed by a Sydney Allen service extended the lead to 6-3. The tide changed over the next few minutes as Milligan went ahead on the scoreboard. A kill by Kamari Jackson and a block solo by Madison Coffey were not enough to bring the team back in the first set, falling 25-19.

Shante Smith gave the team a 2-1 lead with her kill in the second set. The points went back and forth early in the set as the Lady Bulldogs held a 6-5 lead. The opponents scored five straight points though to move ahead 10-6. The momentum stayed with the Lady Buffaloes as they scored eight of the next 14 points to move ahead 18-12. TWU was not able to change the score in their favor, falling 25-17 in the second set.

A kill by Sutton cut the deficit the team faced in the third set down to two. Milligan scored eight of the next nine points to take a 12-3 lead. Miller, Smith, Allen, Coffey, and Kali Bowie recorded points in the set, but the team was unable to overcome the deficit, falling 25-10 in the third set and 3-0 in the match.
