Vanderbilt Volleyball | Inaugural Camps Starting Soon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball is years away from playing its first official match, however head coach Anders Nelson and his staff will be hosting a variety of sessions as part of the program’s inaugural set of camps that will get underway in June.

Nelson, along with assistants Russell Corbelli and Lauren Plum will lead campers throughout the summer. Over a combined 40 seasons playing and coaching at the collegiate and professional level, the three have been a part of 20 teams that have appeared in the NCAA Tournament—highlighted by three national championships—while working with two national and seven conference players of the year as well as 36 All-Americans.

There will be an all skills camps taking place on July 11-12, designed for individuals at the beginner or imtermediate level entering the fifth-12th grades to receive instruction on all volleyball skills including setting, serving, hitting, passing, and defending.

Collegiate prospect camps, meant for elite players who are aspiring to play at the collegiate level, will be held June 12-13 and July 18-19. Those sessions will feature an environment that will emulate collegiate drills and competition and is recommended for players entering grades 8-12 who have multiple years of high-level volleyball experience.

The cost for each of those camp sessions is $300 per person.

There will also be camps for passing (July 9), setting (July 9), and hitting (July 10) for individuals going into the fifth-12th grades along at a cost of $175, and a serving camp (July 9 and 10) that will be $65 to register. The Little Anchors camp, which will take place July 13 and 14, is available at a registration cost of $100 for ages 5-10 who are just being introduced to volleyball or at the beginner level.

Each Vanderbilt volleyball camp is open to any and all entrants and will be limited only by number of registrants, age and grade level, and gender.
