Virginia Volleyball || Virginia Adds Transfer Liv Womble

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball head coach Shannon Wells announced the addition of Olivia “Liv” Womble, a transfer right side hitter from George Washington, on Monday (Nov. 20).

“We are very excited to add Liv to our program,” Wells said. “We had the chance to watch Liv at our home tournament early this season and her competitiveness and leadership shined. I knew she was exactly what we needed to help lead our very young team next year. She will make an immediate impact on the court and in the locker room when she joins us next summer.”

Womble comes to UVA with one season of eligibility remaining after a four-year stint with the Revolutionaries from 2020-23. During her tenure at GW, Womble competed in 330 sets over 93 matches, tallying 826 kills, 253 digs and 201 blocks. In the 2023 season she recorded a career-high 23 kills twice in five-set wins over Georgae Mason and Duquesne. Womble led George Washington in kills the past two seasons, posting 286 kills in 2023 and 358 in 2022.

Womble attended Robinson Secondary School in Northern Virginia and was a two-time All-District and All-District Tournament performer, while also garnering All-Region honors as a senior.

On the club level, Womble competed for Metro Volleyball Club of DC, where she was teammates with UVA libero Milan Gomillion. She was named a Capitol Hill Classic All-Tournament selection.

Womble is the daughter of Melissa Batchelor and Caleb Womble. She has two siblings, Parker Womble and Davis Beacham. Womble is set to earn her degree from George Washington in business, with a concentration in information systems and technology management.
