CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team (8-10, 1-7 ACC) continues its four match road trip with a Wednesday night (Oct. 18) matchup against No. 7 Pittsburgh (16-3, 7-1 ACC) at 7 p.m from Fitzgerald Field House. The match against the Panthers will be broadcast on ACC Network (ACCN).
The Cavaliers will then face off against NC State (15-4, 5-3 ACC) at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum on Sunday (Oct. 22) at 1 p.m. Virginia’s match against the Wolfpack is set to be streamed on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX).
BROADCAST INFORMATION
- Virginia’s match against No. 7 Pittsburgh will be broadcast on ACC Network (ACCN), and the matchup against NC State will be streamed on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) through the ESPN app, which is available through participating TV providers that carry ACC Network.

SERIES HISTORY
- The Cavaliers trail the all-time series against the Panthers 3-17 and have fell in the previous 10 matchups. UVA’s most recent win against Pittsburgh came in a 3-1 victory in Oct. 2015.
- Virginia leads the all-time series against NC State 39-35, but are currently on a 10 match losing streak to the Wolfpack. Virginia took NC State to five sets in their first matchup in 2022. Grace Turner led the Hoos with 20 kills on 50 swings while Gabby Easton chipped in 27 assists.
LAST TIME OUT
- Virginia dropped both matches on the road last weekend against Notre Dame (1-3) on Friday (Oct. 13) and No. 6 Louisville (0-3).
- Despite the return of Abby Tadder, who leads the Cavaliers in kills (177) and points (212.0), last weekend, Virginia’s offense had a hard time to get in any sort of rhythm in South Bend or Louisville.
- While the Hoos were neck and neck with the Fighting Irish on Friday, splitting the first two sets, UVA scored only 10 points in each of the final frames. Tadder tallied 14 kills on .308 hitting percentage to go along with five blocks.
- Virginia hit only .087 percent at Louisville in its 0-3 loss to the Cardinals. Four Cavaliers posted five kills while Milan Gomillion tied for a match-high 11 digs.
