PULLMAN – Washington State women’s volleyball officially began its quest for a seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance as it held the first practice of the Fall 2022 season in Bohler Gym on Tuesday.

The 2022 Cougars feature a pair of AVCA All-American honorees from last season in middle blocker Magda Jehlarova and outside hitter Pia Timmer. Sophomore right side Katy Ryan, a 2021 Pac-12 All-Freshman selection, will also return to the Cougs lineup this fall after averaging 2.18 k/s at a .326 clip as a true freshman in 2021.
Defensively, the Cougars also bring back Julia Norville who has started every match over the past two seasons, as well as last season’s starting libero, Karly Basham, who averaged 3.44 dig/s in her first season at WSU.
The lone freshman on the 2022 roster, Britt Carlson, was an early-enrollee this past January and owns a full spring season of collegiate volleyball experience heading into her first fall camp. Other newcomers include transfers Shea Rubright (Minnesota) and Molly Kipp (Baylor) while Laura Jansen, a two-time First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honoree, makes the move from Arkansas-Little Rock to join WSU as a fifth-year outside hitter.
