Volleyball Hosts Iowa State in Saturday Exhibition

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Volleyball program will take on Iowa State Saturday in exhibition play at the Hearnes Center. First service is set for 1 p.m., CT.

Admission to Saturday’s exhibition is free for all fans. Patrons can grab post-match autographs from the team following the event.

Saturday marks the second and final preseason competition for the Tigers after competing in the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 12.

Head coach Dawn Sullivan enters her first season at the helm of the program in 2023. Sullivan has added seven transfers and four freshmen since her arrival in Mid-Missouri this past December.

The Tigers return juniors Jordan Iliff, Lauren Forbes, Morgan Isenberg, and sophomores Madilyn Sell and Janet deMarrais from the 2022 team.

Iliff, a right side hitter from St. Louis, Missouri, native, was named to the 2023 USA Volleyball Women’s Collegiate National Team in June. The junior was third on Mizzou offensively in 2022 with 227 kills (2.39 kills per set).

Sullivan will face her former team Saturday. She spent 13 seasons as an assistant and associate head coach at Iowa State from 2005-18. Under her guidance, the Cyclones made 12-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Following Saturday’s exhibition, Missouri officially begins the campaign with a pair of home tournaments starting with the Mizzou Classic on Aug. 25-27. The Tigers are slated to face Illinois State, Central Arkansas and Colgate over the opening weekend inside the Hearnes Center.
