Waldorf University – Volleyball Wraps 2022 Season on the Road

MADISON, S.D. – The Waldorf women’s volleyball team concluded their season on the road against Dakota State University. The Warriors battled hard, but fell in four 32-30, 23-22, 22-25, 22-25.

The first set was a constant back and forth battle to start the match. Waldorf had 19 kills for set 1 and took the set 32-30.

The Warriors were unable to take another set to force fifth set. Kenzie Kidd (JR/Roscoe, IL) led the match with a double-double, 19 kills and 20 digs. Kidd only had two errors on 50 attempts, finishing with a .340 hitting percentage. Zoee Pond (SO/Monroe, WI) add seven kills. Charlotte Wright (JR/Porter, MN) and Alicia Brandt (SO/Lakefield, MN) each had six block assists. Kaylee Kidd (JR/Roscoe, IL) led the defense with 31 digs and Emma Hovenga (JR/Forest City, IA) and Kaitlyn Bakke (SR/Forest Lake, MN) had 20 and 27 assists, respectfully.

“I was really proud of our grit in finishing the first set, and we just missed the next three. I am very optimistic about our team moving forward into the 2023 season, but we will miss our seniors tremendously,” Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe stated. “Aby Wood, Kaitlyn Bakke, and Jensen Gabora each left their mark on the program and built us to new standards.”

The Warriors finish the 2022 season 11-13 overall.
