Walsh Jennings Named Recipient of NCAA Silver Anniversary Award – Stanford Cardinal

INDIANAPOLIS – Kerri Walsh Jennings has been selected as a recipient of the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, as announced by the organization on Dec. 4. She will be presented the honor on Jan. 14, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the NCAA convention.

The Silver Anniversary Awards recognize six distinguished former student-athletes on the 25th anniversary of the end of their intercollegiate athletics eligibility. Nominated by administrators at their undergraduate schools and selected by a panel of former student-athletes and representatives from NCAA member schools and conferences, the Silver Anniversary award celebrates the achievements and contributions of former student-athletes who have excelled in their professional lives and continue to exemplify the values of collegiate athletics.

Joining Walsh Jennings as Silver Anniversary Award recipients are Danielle Donehew (Georgia Tech), Isaiah Kacyvenski (Harvard), Matt Kuchar (Georgia Tech), Ronda Jo Miller (Gallaudet) and Keiko Pice (UCLA).

Walsh Jennings was a star on the volleyball court at Stanford, concluding her career as a four-time All-American and two-time NCAA Champion (1996-97). She was also named the AVCA Co-National Player of the Year as a senior in 1999 and was a decorated Pac-10 athlete as the 1998 Player of the Year and a four-time first team honoree.

The first player in Pac-10 history to record more than 1,500 kills, 1,200 digs and 500 blocks, Walsh Jennings currently ranks eighth all-time at Stanford in career digs per set (3.10), ninth in digs (1,285) and career hitting percentage (.358), and 10th in total blocks (502).

The most decorated beach volleyball player in the history of the sport, Walsh Jennings is a three-time Olympic gold medalist (2004, 2008, 2012) and Olympic bronze medalist (2016) in beach volleyball alongside teammates Misty May-Treanor (2004, 2008, 2012), who was an NCAA Silver Anniversary recipient in 2024, and April Ross (2016). She is the all-time leader in career victories on the professional beach volleyball circuit with 135 international and domestic tournament victories. Walsh Jennings also made her Olympic debut in 2000 with the United States’ indoor team, finishing fourth.

Walsh Jennings is a two-time AVP Best Offensive Player of the Year (2003, 2014) and two-time AVP Most Valuable Player (2003-04), and an eight-time winner of AVP Team of the Year, six times with May-Treanor (2003-08) and twice with Ross (2014, 2016). She is also a two-time recipient of the…
