MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Saint Michael’s College women’s volleyball team capped play at this weekend’s Saint Anselm College/Southern New Hampshire University Invitational on Sunday with a pair of losses in Southern New Hampshire’s Stan Spirou Field House. The Purple Knights fell against Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College, 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-19), before being downed by the hosts, 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-11).

- Roberts Wesleyan led by as many as four points in the opening set before an 8-2 run by the Purple Knights gave them a 10-8 lead on Huihui-Martinez’s ace. Saint Michael’s twice extended its lead to seven points, including at 24-17 on a Stanton kill, before an error at set point gave the Purple and Gold a 1-0 lead.
- Set No. 2 featured 11 ties and six lead swings, as neither squad led by more than two points until O’Connor’s ace capped a 6-0 run that pushed the Purple Knights into a 16-12 advantage. Curley’s kill still had her team up by four, at 17-13, before three straight aces by senior Charlotte Orgill finished off a go-ahead 5-0 stretch. With the teams tied at 23, Weber dropped consecutive aces to clinch the set.
